At Nature Coast Middle School, we focus on developing “critical literacy”—a term that emphasizes the importance of reading, writing, and speaking as a critical skill for social and academic success. Based on their needs, students are enrolled in B.E.S.T. English Language Arts 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade. NCMS also offers Advanced ELA in 7th and 8th Grades. For 8th Grade students who qualify, English 1 is offered. English 1 is a high school credit course (9th Grade ELA).
